As the Opening Executive Sous Chef at Charleston's Dewberry Hotel, he connected with small farms and purveyors to showcase true low country cuisine, emphasizing ethical and local sourcing.
In 2017, Nick took on a unique role as Touring Chef for Grammy-winning musician Ed Sheeran, preparing meals across Europe and the U.S. Afterward, he joined The Broadmoor in Colorado as Chef de Cuisine of Ristorante Del Lago. Now, at The Gasparilla Inn, Chef Nick continues his journey, committed to upholding the Inn's legacy with his creative, regionally inspired dishes, reflecting his dedication to quality, sustainability, and innovation.

In this episode, Caroline Ashley, also known as Karuna, shares her profound experiences as a Kundalini Yoga practitioner and spiritual guide. While training, she studied Hinduism and Buddhism in India for seven years. She also studied with the Medicine Men of the Lakota Sioux healing tradition.  She advocates for yoga as a way of life that fosters love, awareness, and community. 
 
She began her career as a Ford model before transitioning into yoga and spirituality. A classically trained actress and lifelong learner, she has dedicated over 40 years to Kundalini Yoga and meditation. As a mother, teacher, and healer, Karuna has led yoga teacher training programs and retreats globally, combining her expertise in yoga, acting, and holistic healing. Her work reflects her commitment to empowering others with compassion, humor, and spiritual wisdom.
 
Karuna's new book, Light on Kundalini: Your Lifestyle Guide to Yoga and Awakening, available on Amazon, is a blend of personal anecdotes and Kundalini teachings, aimed at guiding readers to redefine their realities and clear physical and emotional blockages. The book draws from her decades of practice, offering reflective exercises and yogic principles to help readers move through challenges.  She explains how to explore your inner world to redefine your reality.

Juan Carlos Kaiten is a social architect with expertise in global collective intelligence, social networks, and organizational transformation. Holding a master’s degree in Strategic Leadership and a member of the Evolutionary Leaders, he is currently focused on building large-scale collaboration platforms designed to foster social innovation and interdependence within bioregions. His work is rooted in creating frameworks and methodologies that support conscious evolution on a bioregional scale.
For over eight years, Juan Carlos worked alongside Barbara Marx Hubbard, implementing the Wheel of Co-Creation and Social Synergy Tools in regions such as Mexico, the U.S., Europe, and Egypt. In his role as a leader of social cohesion initiatives for the Mexican government and beyond, he envisions a future where communities can advance and flourish together, united by a shared purpose and collaborative strength.
Juan Carlos Kaiten's talks about his work with bioregions. His community intelligence dashboards focuses on creating interconnected, resilient communities that function sustainably and harmoniously within their local ecosystems. The framework emphasizes the importance of understanding and utilizing natural boundaries (like watersheds and ecosystems) rather than arbitrary geopolitical borders, fostering a deep sense of place and a focus on environmental stewardship. By organizing communities in this way, people are encouraged to work collaboratively to regenerate and protect their natural surroundings while enhancing local economies and cultures that align with the unique resources and needs of each bioregion.
The community intelligence dashboard is a tool designed to support this bioregional approach, serving as a central platform where community members can access real-time data about their bioregion. This dashboard compiles critical information such as resource availability, environmental health, social well-being metrics, and local project updates. It’s meant to foster transparency and empower communities to make informed decisions, adapt to environmental changes, and respond to crises collectively. By leveraging shared intelligence, communities are better equipped to innovate and co-create solutions that support sustainability and resilience, making the dashboard an essential part of this model for social and ecological evolution.
